My Name is Prosper Okoye, a Benue State serving Corps member, with the State Code: BN/20B/0698.
When I came to Benue state for service in December 2020, I discovered that the children of the school for the Gifted and Talented, a public Boarding secondary School in my neighborhood, are always moving around with buckets in search of a place to fetch water.
I thought about the hardship this must bringing to their academics, and their general wellbeing In the school.
I was moved with compassion to help them mitigate their water hardship by drilling a borehole in the school;
as they are forced to drink the dirty water they fetch from the well, which is the only source of water, and it dries up during the dry season.
So far, I have done the Geophysical survey to ascertain the water depth to be drilled.
I have gotten a pledge from the House On the Rock Church, located at Jonah Jang Crescent to buy the Tank.
Hajaich Construction company at Old Otukpo road Makurdi, also pledged to build the Tank Stand,
3rd world company, old Otupko road, Makurdi, promised to buy the Pumping machine needed for Installation.
I met with the secretary of Benue State Drillers Association, he promised to get his Union to help if I can raise half of the Drilling cost, which is 350,000 naira.
I have 150,000 naira, all I need to complete the cost is 200,000 naira.
